My husband and I stumbled across this paradise. The cottages were spotless fully equipped and the view to the lake was amazing. We had our own stairway to the dock. The owners were very accommodating and courteous. We will definitely be going back. I would reccomend this hideaway to my family and friends.

5 of my friends and I rented a lodge for the weekend and everything was great! Fishing was great - lots of pike. And lodges definitely surpassed our expectations. Service was great and everyone that worked there was extremely nice. We will be coming back many times in the future. Cant wait!

My parents have been going here for many years for fishing. Now I know why they keep returning. The whole place is beautiful - cottages, flower beds, gardens. Very clean and well kept. Heinz and Gerda obviously have put their heart and soul into this place. Heinz is known for his woodwork, and metal artwork that are displayed in many areas. He even made the cabinet doors in the renovated units, and did the artwork on the fireplace mantle. We stayed in the 4 bedroom unit. This cottage has not been fully renovated yet. They plan to do flooring and roofing in the fall. The 2 bathrooms have been renovated. Pros: This unit had plenty of space for our group of 9 (one slept in the living room). There are 2 large dining tables, as well as 2 outdoor tables under an awning, on a large deck. The shade was appreciated. It also has a nice flat grassy area for sitting around the fire pit (bring your own lawn chairs), and enough room to set up our badminton set. This cottage had the best fire pit of them all. The kitchen is large, and there is lots of storage space. The tap water is from a well. It is filtered and safe to drink. We drink a lot of water, and found it to taste flat, so we brought drinking water. Cons: The beds in the 2 rooms on the left weren't comfortable. The far left room has a wood shed right outside of the room. This means that there isn't any airflow, and the smell in that room was a mix of old cottage/humidity and woodshed. I could not sleep, or even walk through that room. It should be closed off. We plan to take one of the renovated units next time. We looked around, and noticed that all the units have large decks, and a fire pit. My parents have stayed in #4 many times, and say that all the renovated units are great. The food at the restaurant is delicious! The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is also high. There is WiFi, although not strong enough to stream. Our unit had a TV with Satellite. Edit: July 11, 2018 We returned as a family. This time we rented 3 units. All renovated. And all nice, spacious, and clean. We had an emergency that I imagine they have seen many times: a fish hook in a finger. We expected this would need an ER visit, but Heinz expertly removed it. Since tetanus shots were received recently, there was no need to even see a doctor. Thank you Heinz!!! I noticed a few things that I'd like to add: None of the cabins had ant problems, which says something about the solid construction of the units. All of their flower gardens were beautiful, despite the dry season (fire ban).

Nice place to go by boat or by car to eat or camp. Healthy and regular food. Very clean rustic look. Better to reserve 1 or 2 hours before even if you are only by yourself. Good boat docking.

The staff is unbelievable. The cottages are very well kept and really clean. They look very new and smell good too. And oh my God the fishing is out of this world. We caught stringers full of fish almost every day. There restaurant all I can say is mmmmmm. The homemade pizza is awesome And for all you guys who don't like to cook just bring your cleaned fish and they cook it. I might be a little bias because I did fall in love there. In love with my fiancé, with nature and with fishing. Try these guys out you wont be disappointed.

Authentic 1940's Northern Ontario Lodge and Restaurant with a peaceful setting and view of the West Arm of Nippissing, lots of flowers and trees that the owner operated lodge looks after and a water view from the restaurant. Cute cottages, nice docks, and privacy. A must stop on your vacation in the north country. We have had breakfast and dinner here and the food quality and portion sizes are very good. I haven't had it myself yet but others in our family have told us they also make an incredible pizza.

We had a great weekend fishing at the end of October. Both days were not slow. Cottages are clean and warm, your host Gerda runs a great lodge on the Nipissing.
